On Tue 8 Sept 2020 the UK Government announced that from Mon 14 Sept, social gatherings in England would be reduced to a maximum of 6 people.
This reduction applies to ‘social gatherings’ and as theatre and dance classes for young people (such as our ReBels Talent Development Training Classes) fall within the guidance set out by the Government relating to Out of School Settings, Barbican Theatre feel that the recent announcement does not apply to our ReBels training activity. Barbican Theatre have worked vigorously to ensure all guidelines, restrictions and laws are adhered to for the safety of participants and their teams. Therefore our planned start date of w/c 28 Sept for our ReBels Autumn term will still remain.
The law and guidance is ever evolving and only valid at time of publishing. If anything else changes at any time, we will inform you of any updates as soon as we are able, via email, on our website and social media channels.
To confirm as of Monday 14 September we have the following in place for our ReBels training classes:
-
A maximum of 15 young people in each session (including practitioners and assistants)
-
Participants must wear a face mask as soon as they enter the building where their class is being held and will only be allowed to remove when they are within their safety bubble in the classroom (and when their Practitioner says it’s okay to remove) If they are exempt from having to wear a mask please detail this on your track and trace form
-
Social / physical distancing must be maintained at all times – we will have ‘bubble lines’ in place that young people will need to stay within.
-
Hiring of additional venues (The Loft & Annabel’s) for extra, smaller classes.
-
All sessions will take place in well ventilated spaces
-
There will be a 1 hour break between sessions so that cleaning and ‘airing out’ of spaces can take place.
