Community Engagement Leader
Sally graduated from Plymouth Marjon University in 2009 with a degree in Drama, with a focus on youth and community engagement. She has been lucky enough to work with varied and diverse groups of people, organisations and projects in South West England and internationally.
Sally has worked with groups from early years to adults, finding fun ways to engage participants in creating and making drama, using dialogue, movement, music and more! Her main aim when working with any group is to ensure that participants feel good about themselves and enjoy creating and being imaginative.
Some of the South West based organisations that Sally has worked with include Theatre Royal Plymouth, Soapbox Children’s Theatre, Access Theatre, Razzamataz Theatre Schools, Broken Puppet Theatre, Symbiotic, and a number of schools and universities. Work for these companies and organisations have included workshop facilitation, lecturing, project delivery, directing and other technical roles.
As a producer, Sally has previously worked with Plymouth Based devising company, Rabblerouse Theatre, to create exciting new work for stage. Additionally, she is a cabaret artist, performing in shows around the UK.
Sally feels incredibly privileged to work in Plymouth and see the exciting developments that are taking place in the city involving arts and culture. She is passionate about making the arts accessible for everyone, and using it as a vehicle for development and social change.
