ReBel Adults- End of Term Sharing

Join us for an informal sharing of work from our Adult’s Courses at The Barbican Theatre. This evening is an opportunity to watch and enjoy what the groups have been working on this term, and to support the excellent work we do as part of the ReBels Programme. Suitable for audience members aged 14+.

Acting and Performance present— ‘Chanelling’

This term the Acting and Performance group have been focusing on devising, creating pieces from their own inspiration and looking at storytelling and character. Devising in theatre is a collaborative and creative process, and the group have worked together to generate original material. This approach has allowed the performance to evolve organically, with emphasis on collective input and artistic experimentation.

Grab a tea and a biscuit and relax in front of the TV, as the Rebel Adults ‘channel’ some of your favourite shows with a twist.

Finding your Voice present ‘Christmas Associated’

This course has concentrated on the benefits that singing can bring to wellbeing whilst also helping the participants discover their own performance voices. Balancing process and performance is a fine line when Wellbeing is your main consideration, therefore rather than rehearse Christmas Songs in September (as that is definitely not good for mental health) our singers chose to rehearse songs that are associated with Christmas.

Our performance, ‘Christmas Associated’ is a collection of non traditional Christmassy songs followed by a "proper" Christmas sing along to enable the audience to also feel the benefits and get themselves in the Christmas spirit!
