Forked celebrates poetry and music from the South West for International Women’s Day. Hosted by Marion Clare and featuring:
Katy Else
Also known as the Unheard Bird, Katy represented the South West as the 2012 Olympic poet. Her poetry is inspired by her love for nature, the stories she hears from the people on the edges of society, life’s endless battles and all things wild and gay.
MCMC Spoken
Social commentary with beautifully constructed politically potent poems is MCMC Spoken’s speciality. She is drawn to the unsaid and hard to swallow, speaking honestly and with humanity at the heart.
House Of Figs
House of Figs present intricate soundscapes and sonic sanctuary, creating poetic conversations about the wonder of the everyday. House of Figs is a collaborative duo featuring poet, creative coach and founder of The Poetry Machine Beth Calverley and singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, teacher and writer Bethany Roberts.
Malaika Kegode & Jakabol
Outlier is a narrative gig-theatre show from poet and performer Malaika Kegode, experimental music collective JAKABOL and theatre maker Jenny Davies.
