Back in June some of you may remember we brought our 7m tall giant fisherman puppet, jellyfish and funky prawns to the back alleys of Keyham for an exciting, musical parade.

We were so thrilled with the responses from the neighbourhood that we want to come back with more giants on an even bigger scale. This time for a giant’s party – with the puppet giants co-designed and co-created by the Keyham community

The community participants are very important to the project. We want your voices and ideas to come through. You’ll make decisions about the music the giant moves to, the clothing it wears, the shape and colour of the giant, its name, its strengths, even its favourite foods (it is a party after all and giants do tend to have big appetites!) You’ll be building a symbol of all that you are proud of in Keyham. Perhaps the two giant characters will represent ‘community giants’ in your own local area. Or be characters designed to acknowledge the huge size of Keyham’s community spirit : BIG pride, BIG celebrations, BIG voices, BIG hearts.

Once our puppets are made we’ll have a FREE party in March at Keyham Green Places Centre with food, live music and the giants. Then later on we hope to build even more giants for an even bigger Giant’s Tea Party for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
