Pay What You Decide

Join us for an introduction to stage combat with renowned  theatre and film fight director Keith Wallis, where we'll be exploring a wide range of techniques in unarmed fighting for the stage.

This course aims to give actors and stage performers a good foundation in the principles of unarmed combat, with a strong emphasis on how to perform fights safely and effectively, and exploring what makes for a good fight scene.
NOTE: Please bring suitable loose clothing for movement work, along with a pair of trainers or dance shoes. You may also wish to bring bottled water with you.

Pay What You Decide

This is a Pay What You Decide workshop, which means you can decide what you pay to attend. We have set a minimum of £15 per course (we pay all our course leaders the ITC rate and this minimum fee will not even cover the cost of half their fee) but if you can afford to pay a little extra to ensure we can continue to offer such opportunities to young people we would be extremely grateful.  There is no 'right' answer, we are not attempting to lead you to a specific figure. You can pay £15 per course or you can donate a little extra if you decide to (if you can afford it) by adding an additional value in the Donation box on the next screen when you checkout.  From researching similar courses like this in the Plymouth / south west area we can see that it would usually cost £50 per day to attend (so this two day  course would cost £100).

Free Places
We also have a number of bursaries (free places) for anyone for whom money is a barrier to them being able to join. There is no judgement and you'll not be asked to answer question after question after question.
If you'd like to chat (confidentially) about having one of our free place bursaries please email Suzie West at suzie@barbicantheatre.co.uk
