English songwriter, vocalist and guitarist Rue showcases her distinctively soulful vocals and rhythmic guitar playing with a charming jazz flare, she has been described as “a future star” by Dart Music Festival earlier this year.
Blending a multitude of genres including jazz, rnb, neo-soul and funk, her dynamic single ‘Lucid’ received outstanding support from leading radio station Jazz FM. Rue draws inspiration from artists old and new, including Hiatus Kaiyote, Maddison Cunningham, Kimbra & Jamiroquai.
Through her own headline shows at stellar venues including Cheltenham Festival Jazz Arena, Pizza Express Jazz Club London, Patchwork Studios and festival performances at Boardmasters, Leopallooza and The Great Escape to name a few, she has established herself as one of the south-west’s must see live acts, flying solo or with her band.
Opening the stage for afro jazz nine piece Nubiyan Twist in 2022, Rue has supported a range of major artists such as Keane, Martha Reeves & the Vandellas, Newton Faulkner and James Arthur. A seasoned performer who has worked with BBC Radio & Television, she has also worked with Sennheiser, and has appeared on multiple live streamed shows including The Nub Sessions.
