About The Masterclass
How do traditional storytelling methods adapt to immersive spaces and what fresh methods have been invented? Join writers Hannah Wood of Story Juice and Alex Robins of Narwhal Ensemble to play with how to make immersive story experiences for 3D explorable space, including video games, virtual reality, augmented reality, immersive theatre and hybrid physical-digital worlds. You’ll get a chance explore all sorts of narrative strategies to encourage audience agency, gain insight into how Story Juice makes projects and develop your own ideas for immersive stories.

About your workshop leaders
Alex Robins
Alex is a game developer and playwright who is currently creating the puzzle app 'BusCity' for the Barbican's Meet Me At The Sundial project. Last Summer he made 'Mondays: a Sisyphean Typing Game' which has had over 60,000 players, coverage by high profile news sites and was featured at multiple exhibitions across Europe. He has also built interactive experiences combining theatre and gaming ('Hotline Coldcall', 'Fish in Blender') for Visual Arts South West and Plymouth Art Weekender.
Dr Hannah Wood
Hannah Wood is a writer/narrative designer and creative director of Story Juice, an interactive storytelling studio making playful experiences for everyone from individuals to audiences of 200,000. The studio brings untold stories to life in imaginative, new artistic forms and puts the audience at the heart of its experiences, inviting them to embody moments and perspectives that can inspire empathy, delight and empower social change. Collaborators and clients have included the Natural History Museum, Almeida Theatre, Roald Dahl Estate, Eden Project and BBC. The studio is a pledge partner of UKIE's #RaiseTheGame initiative to improve equality, diversity and inclusion in the games industry and has won a Global Women In Games Award 2022. Hannah is also a Lecturer and Researcher at University of Plymouth.
