The Tamaritans Theatre Company present HANGMEN – a black comedy.

“I’m just as good as bloody Pierrepoint.”

In his small pub in Oldham, Harry is something of a local celebrity. But what’s the second-best hangman in England to do on the day they’ve abolished hanging? Amongst the cub reporters and sycophantic pub regulars, dying to hear Harry’s reaction to the news, a peculiar stranger lurks, with a very different motive for his visit.

“Don’t worry. I may have my quirks but I’m not an animal. Or am I? One for the courts to discuss.”

HANGMEN is a black comedy by BAFTA award-winng writer/director Martin McDonagh. His film work includes Banshees Of Inisherin, In Bruge, and Three Billboards Outside Epping Missouri. His plays include The Pillowman, The Lieutenant Of Inishmore…and of course, Hangmen.

The Tamaritans are thrilled to be returning to the Barbican Theatre for the first time in around 20 years! Our recent productions include ‘The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-time’, ‘Bothered And Bewildered’, ‘The Girl On The Train’ and ‘Blackadder’.

This amateur production of “Hangmen” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. on behalf of Samuel French Ltd. www.concordtheatricals.co.uk
