Can you love someone who represents everything you hate in the world?

The world is in chaos. Hazel, a doctor, and Archer a space shuttle engineer fall in love. Archer’s work creating shuttle engines, when unsuccessful, has terrible repercussions on people’s health, leaving Hazel to deal with the results. What’s the cost when the one thing powerful enough to let the planet, could also completely destroy it?

Fissure is a heartbreaking and comical piece exploring how we can love people with different ideologies to ourselves – but also asks if this love is enough. Fissure is set in a futuristic landscape that puts environmental issues at its heart.

Fissure was performed as part of the From Devon With Love Festival for the Bike Shed in January 2018, and was chosen as a Top Pick of the festival. Following on from performances at the Exeter Phoenix in May 2019, the company of Fissure are extremely excited to be part of the Plymouth Fringe!

“Fissure is one of the most exciting new plays I’ve read recently…I’ve been enthralled by the story since I first read it and haven’t stopped thinking about it since!”
Oscar Owen, Producer – Walrus Theatre Company
