Indian Puppetry and Storytelling Workshop (for Trauma-Informed/Complex Needs Settings)
Come join us at the Barbican Theatre for a unique workshop that combines the art of Indian puppetry with powerful storytelling techniques. This workshop is specially designed for those working in trauma-informed or complex needs settings, offering a creative and therapeutic approach to healing and expression.
In this 3 hour workshop and talk internationally acclaimed Indian puppeteer Anurupa Roy will share the Mooli Lahad technique with BASIC Ph and an introduction to the skill and vulnerability model of storytelling as it applies to movement and puppetry.
The group will then have the opportunity to practice some skills together and consider how use of imagery and storytelling can support those experiencing trauma or issues of confidence to explore alternative approaches to opening up.
This workshop is for anyone working in theatre, movement, visual arts and socially engaged practice wanting to strengthen or learn new skills and feel more confident in working within trauma/complex needs settings.
