BT Musical Theatre is an exciting new addition to our creative programme, offering young performers the opportunity to explore the dynamic world of musical theatre. Combining acting, singing, and movement, this class is perfect for those who love to perform and want to build confidence across all areas of the stage.
Open to all experience levels, these weekly sessions are designed to support creative development while nurturing individuality and performance technique.
What You Can Expect:
- Acting Through Song: Learn how to interpret and perform songs with emotional clarity and storytelling focus.
- Voice & Singing Technique: Build vocal strength, range, and control through structured, supportive practice.
- Movement & Staging: Develop confidence in stage presence, choreography, and spatial awareness.
- Performance Skills: Gain practical experience in ensemble work, character building, and musical theatre styles.
- Collaborative Creativity: Work with others to create exciting performance pieces, with the potential for sharings and showcases throughout the year.
- Supportive Environment: Led by experienced professionals, each class is designed to encourage growth, enjoyment, and artistic confidence.
Classes will respond to the interests and abilities of each group, with the potential for an open mic sharing at Easter and a full-scale musical theatre outcome in the summer, funding dependent.
These classes are new and will only run if minimum numbers are reached. Please share widely with friends, schools, and networks to help us launch this exciting new offer.

Why we offer tiered membership:
We’re committed to making our youth programme accessible to everyone.
As a charity, we receive some funding to deliver our creative programmes – but this doesn’t cover all of our costs. To help us keep our classes affordable and open to as many young people as possible, we've introduced a tiered pricing structure for our termly membership.
Here’s how it works:
- Everyone gets the same great classes, led by professional artists.
- You choose the price that feels right for your family.
- If you’re in a position to give a little more, you can opt for the 'Help Us' tier to support the programme’s long-term sustainability.
It’s a simple 'Help Us, Help You' approach – you choose what you can afford, and every contribution goes directly into keeping our programme inclusive and high-quality.
Bursaries available
We also offer no-questions-asked bursaries for families who need extra support. Please speak to Dulcie for more information.
Thank you for helping us keep Barbican Theatre Youth a vibrant and welcoming space for every young person who wants to explore their creativity.
