Bad Sex Writing Live Podcast

16+

Join award-winning writer Laura Horton and comedian Suzy Bennett for the first ever Bad Sex Writing Live Podcast!

In 2022 Laura held the first ever Bad Sex Writing workshop in the basement of the Fortesque Pub, what ensued was a hilarious evening of deliberately badly written erotic fiction. Laura has since presented workshops and events at the Barbican Theatre and Wales Millennium Centre.

For each live podcast we’ll be inviting submissions through an open call on a different theme and reading out the best of the worst.

The first will be bakery themed, so get your submissions in! If you want some help, email badsexwriting@gmail.com to register your interest, you’ll be sent two word prompts which you’ll need to weave into your passages. We’ll be accepting plays, poems and short stories with an upper limit of 500 words. Just remember it needs to be comically bad but always consensual.

“Even though these events are spaces for humour, I’ve had a lot of people open up after workshops, making me realise how messy everyone’s romantic lives are. Ultimately, this sort of camaraderie makes sex less intimidating – and makes us all feel less alone.” LAURA HORTON, VOGUE
