Join Music Box host Rose and professional touring musician Sam as they introduce young and emerging musicians to performing live as a band…
Participants will receive guidance and feedback for the duration of the session from seasoned pros and will be encouraged to ask as many questions as they can think of about all things to do with band life!
There will be a task to learn a song in a group(s) and perform as a band at end of the session.
In addition we’ll have a special guest video call to have a Q&A about producing, and touring the world as a musician, tour manager and sound engineer with Wes Switzer a 2x Latin Grammy Award Winner!
Who is this workshop suitable for?
Ideal for those who are just starting their journey as a solo musician or band (of any age!) who have some experience / knowledge of playing a musical instrument (including the voice!)

Covid 19 Safety
The health, safety and comfort of our audiences, colleagues and performers are very important to us.
We have a number of measures in place to ensure your comfort and safety. Enhanced hygiene procedures are in place. Hand sanitising stations are positioned throughout the public spaces for audience members to use and we ask that you do so frequently. The theatre will be aired out between rehearsals and performances (for added covid safety) which can mean the space can feel a tiny bit more chilly even after we shut the doors. Therefore we suggest you wear an extra layer to be safe!
In line with new regulations issued on 8 December, unless exempt, all audience members are required to wear face masks from as soon as they arrive at the theatre and throughout their visit (including while watching the performance).
All Barbican Theatre team members will be wearing face masks (unless exempt) and will be regularly lateral flow tested. This includes the team front of house and back stage, and performers.
We continue to monitor the latest guidance from the UK Government.
