Chicago footwork, rhythm tap dance and electronic music, are the inspirations for this this exciting and dynamic show.
Cypher, meets theatre, meets jam session, featuring dance artists from the South West and the Grovement Project Dance Company alongside Chicago Footwork dancer Drew Shears, rhythm tap artist Jess Murray and experimental electronic musician Alex Kearney.
Come and join us to find out what happens when rhythm leads the way, and stories unfold in the moment.
Featuring a performance created during a day long workshop with local artists and dancers collaborating with Drew Shears, Jess Murray and Alex Kearney.

What is Footwork In Flow? 

Footwork in Flow is a day and evening of workshops and a performance inspired by Chicago Footwork, rhythm tap dance, and the improvised conversations between dance and music.
There are lots of ways to be involved, whether you come along to the performance and join the cypher, take part in an open level Chicago Footwork workshop, or get involved in the performance opportunity to be a part of show.

We have step free access from when you arrive at Barbican building to access the bar, theatre, studio, offices and accessible toilets.

Seating

Reserved seating is in place for this performance.
Seats B5 & B7 are wheelchair accessible, if you require these seats please add 'access member' (here) to your account and you will have access to these. Please let us know of any access requirements you may have, including whether you would like the seat removed.

What is the seating like? 
The seating in the raked area (rows A-O), the seating has arms. Seat - 17in/43cm Wide, 18in/46cm Long. Back - 20in/51cm Wide, 19in/48cm Long
Please get in contact if you do not think this seating will work for you and we can explore options.
If you are seated in 'the pit' (rows X & Y) the seats often do no have arms, they are not fixed seating and are added for each event with maximum 140 seat capacity.
