Black Cats, Broomsticks, and Pentagrams? It sounds like you have a witch problem!

But fear not—justice has never been more entertaining! Welcome to The Witching Hour, the nation’s hottest, most cutthroat game show, where trials are a spectacle, the audience holds the gavel, and survival is a matter of public opinion.

Forget fairness. Here, charm is currency, and scandal is sport. Contestants must plead their case through dazzling performances, persuasive narratives, and well-timed theatrics. One wrong move and they could find themselves the latest villain in a society addicted to outrage and desperate for a new scapegoat.

As accusations fly and alliances shift, the line between guilt and innocence blurs. The audience cheers, the stakes rise, and the cauldron of public opinion boils over, consuming reputations in a frenzy of torch-lit entertainment. In a world where celebrity is fleeting and the mob is always hungry, moral integrity is just another casualty of the show. (Pitchforks and torches not included.)

Through razor-sharp satire and absurd humour, The Witching Hour takes a scathing look at justice as spectacle, the fragility of reputation, and a culture where being liked isn’t just desirable—it’s a matter of life and death. Can the accused turn the tide with a clever quip or a heart-wrenching confession? Or will they be the next victim of the insatiable hunger for drama?

This is a Barbican Theatre production, created and performed by members of the ReBels Young Company – a paid, professional development programme supporting early-career artists aged 18–25 to make bold, original work. The Witching Hour is a testament to their talent, ambition, and fearless storytelling.

Step right up—the audience is waiting, and the show must go on.
