Drag as you’ve probably not seen it before… or expected!
A night of eye opening queer art exploring society’s perceptions of transgender issues, modern feminism and living in today’s world as a queer person.
In Lana’s Blender you will see traditional burlesque, drag cabaret and non-traditional queer art.
Dildo Draggins
She’s no stranger to the stage. This female queen will be showing you that being a woman has its boundaries, and will demonstrate that gender norms can do one. She has a voice, and you’re going to hear it loud and clear. With natural humour and a tendency to be absolutely lovable, you’re not going to want to miss out.
Marilyn Mournroe
Another female queen. Using glamour and a punk attitude, she endeavours to show that female queens do have as much right to exist as male queens and will explore sexual violence and cat calling in her work.
Ally Way
A local queer icon in her own right, Ally will take on any queer issue and deliver it to any audience. As a trans activist, an LGBT+ advocate and an individualist, we just do not know what she’s going to bring to the table. You’ll just have to find out.
Lady Shakira Diamond
Queer art doesn’t just stop at drag. Burlesque has been used to communicate queer issues for decades; and Lady Shakira Diamond is going to show you how. Plymouth’s own burlesque queen will explain what burlesque means to her and leave you wanting more.
Lana Van Anna
Plymouth’s own queen of the hideous will passionately argue the case for LGBT+ liberation in any situation. Expect comedy, expect tears, expect to challenge your own perceptions on sex and gender. Because once this blender is switched on, there’s no going back; your world will be 200% more queer.
Join us for an entertaining night filled with unexpected laughs, and maybe some tears.
Tickets £8 (inclusive of all booking fees and charges)
