My first engagement with the Barbican Theatre was during their Summer School back in 2010. I continued my training as part of the Young Apprentices company until 2014, and now work as an Assistant Theatre Practitioner and part of the Front of House Team. I am a Freelance Dance and Theatre Artist in the city, and work with local dance and theatre companies Beyond Face, Above Bounds, Far Flung and Exim Dance.
My practice focuses on making theatre fun, engaging and accessible for people. In Theatre Junction and Companyb Theatre, the companies are encouraged to explore devised and scripted material using the vocal and physical skills they learn throughout the term. The playful nature of these sessions gives everyone the opportunity to creatively challenge themselves and support each other’s progress. It’s important to highlight how all the skills we learn as professional actors can be transferable to stage, screen and many other aspects of our daily lives. I am always inspired by the participant’s enthusiasm and creativity and enjoy seeing their progress as actors and confident individuals.
