ReBels Dance Practitioner
Originally from Singapore, Ariel was born into a family of musicians and dancers. She started ballet lessons at the age of 4 and gradually took up Latin American Ballroom Dancing. She went on to win many Latin American Dance Championship titles at a National and International level with her dance partner.
She moved to the UK in 2009 and was introduced to the world of street dance and choreography. Together with her brother, Ashton Born, they took the Over-16 Advanced Duo World Champions title at the UDO World Street Dance Championships in 2010 and 2012, and subsequently proceeded to win the Champion of Champions title. She has also made TV appearances on Sky 1’s Got To Dance, ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent and The Greatest Dancer with both her dance crew – Beat Breakers (Rhythm City) – and her brother.
She then went on a 4-year hiatus to complete an intensive Music degree at the University of Westminster and has gone on to release a number of original singles under the stage name Ariel B. through streaming services such as Apple Music and Spotify.
In the summer of 2017, she returned to Plymouth and took the South West street dance choreography scene by storm.
However, her biggest achievement to date was when she was handpicked by World-renowned choreographer Brian Friedman, to be a part of his mentorship program, recognising her as a choreography prodigy in the dance scene.
Ariel was recently appointed Director at Rhythm City Dance Studio in Plymouth. She has not looked back since and has been very sought after for choreography workshops and shows all over the South West, and is now also part of the teaching faculty at Studio 4 Youth Dance Company and 4Real Dance Company in Cornwall.
